Zafira won't start after running

    Hi, my 57 plate zafira 1.9 diesel will start in the morning but then after a journey won't restart!.
    Its had 2 new batteries, new glow plugs, nothing seems to have made a difference.
    The engine management light is on, but I've been told its because the EGR valve has been blanked off!.. (this must have been done before i bought it)
    It will jump start, and bump.
    It turns over but won't start, then ends up draining the battery.
    Please help!
