Well I done it bought a 1.8 comfort on a w reg with 31.000 miles. Though its
a ex lex fleet car it was on a long term contract with 1 driver. Looking at
the recipes in the glove box it was a lady from Leeds. Full service history
and service book stamped. Before lex sold it they put on new discs and pads
all round (shoes and drums rear not sure book just said front and rear
breaks and pads replaced) new nears side front calliper windscreen rubber
trim known problem I have found out. 4 new tyres and full 40,000 mile
service inc break fluid change and documented on a lex history report that
comes with the car. the next thing is the belt changes at 60.000 but I may
do them sooner.
The interior is spotless with no damage to the seats or trim. got the
garage that was selling it to throw in 12 months road tax too. screen price
didn't include tax.
very pleased drives well as good as the 1 year old one I drove from Vauxhall
( just to see what nearly new drove like compared to a older car.I would
recommend doing this to any used car) still has the unused first aid kit in
the boot. Oh and the rear cubby hole has a fire extinguisher fitted.

The only thing that let it down was having to press the throttle slightly to
get it to start. but I think that was me being inpatient. I turn the key and
after about 3 seconds of not firing I touched the throttle and she fired
up.the car had had its battery off for a week so I assume that could of
messed things up. the sales man said he will have it checked and would put
some fuel in the fuel light was flashing. now have to wait a week till my
next day off so I can collect the car.

I would of liked a Diesel but they are very expensive and like rocking horse
dung.
Thanks for the advice
Dubster.

Something on my last recept said cambelts at 40,000 on all zafira's (maybe
all vauxhalls) so check it out. If you aint collected the car get the garage
to do it as it would be part of 40k service.

The garage may be reluctant to pay for a cambelt at 40,000/4 years but this
is the Vauxhall recommendation despite what it says in the service book. Try
and persuade them to do it even if you have to contribute. Also make sure
they include new rollers & tensioner.

The service history provided by lex stated full 40,000 mile service so i
assume the belt has been done then. but my assumtion may be falible i will
deffinatly check thanks for the links.

Alan,

Iv just had my astra 2.0 dti in for its 20000 mile service, the
returned service book basicaly indicates nothing was changed the fuel
and air filters havent been changed and the battery in the remote or
the tension pullies.

The bill basicaly indicates a oil filter and seal ring and 50 liters
of good old magnatec 10w-40 is this the correct service the car is
second hadn had a service at 13900 miles when i picked it up 6 months
ago but that has nothing indicated either, iv seen the air filter
previousely and it was as black as yellow paper can get am i better of
getting a replacement and serviceing myself?

no wonder the air filter is black all the oil is flowing out of every
available hole.
I under stand you meant 5.0 ltrs.

OOPS sorry guys thats what i ment.... found something rather nice was
completed for me, severla months ago the plastic clip that normaly
retains the seatbelt buckel on the center rear seat snapped ... my
kind VX dealer has replaced this ... if only he had lifted the buckle
to the correct position its now below the stud meaning i cant get
anything bigger than a 1:1000 scale barbie doll in the back seat,

Hopefully they are going to resolve this issue or i might just cut the
seatbelt off seeing as i cant use it anyway ....
