Zafira towbar wiring problem

Fitted a towbar to a 1.6 life today. Fitted Vauxhall electrics kit. rear
indicators on car would not work with nothing connected to socket.
Thought it out and one drawing shows a left hand drive car. I switched the
towbar loom around, indicators worked ok but now side light on drivers side
does not work and brake light on passenger side does not work. Works ok when
you disconnect towbar loom.
Any one had simular problem.

Sorry cannot help. I just purchased a standard relay unit from Towsure
along with their tow bracket and then ran cables direct to the tail light
units. One thing I did notice though was that the towball indicator light
on the dash flashes correctly whenever the trailer socket is in use and you
are indicating to turn. I can only assume there must be a volt / current
sensing circuit with the car. I would have expected the VX unit to be a
simple plug and go affair ?
