Zafira Oil leaks

My 02 Zafira 1.8 petrol keeps leaking oil from gearbox (red oil) and also
drips black oil from the bottom of the engine. Any ideas.
Are traditional gaskets used for the sump or is it OK to use sealant?
 
Suggest you get it back to the dealer and let them sort it out, you should
have a 3 year warranty. I am surprised that both the engine and gearbox are
leaking. Have you had an accident ?
 
Gio, Good suggestion, but its been back 5 times now various things
changed.....still leaks! Its getting very frustrating, its only done
11,000miles. Your point about an accident is good. No I haven't, but I
haven't had it from new. I'll try and find out from the dealer.
 
Martin, I bought an ex mobility 1.8 Zafira and I just wrote to the original
owner for a bit of background, I enclosed a SAE and got a worthwhile reply
in days. (Mine had the radio code card missing and I was a bit suspicious
with it only doing <100 miles in 12 months etc.). The dealer may fob you
off with it's history but DVLC can supply the earlier owner details if more
than 1. Obviously if it was an ex-rental car then finding out something
might be a problem.
