I think this is going over old ground from a couple of weeks ago, but i am
having a couple of problems with the alarm on my zafira gsi.

A couple of weeks ago and also today, the alarm has been going off on its
own, but when you disarm it the car starts 'chirping' at you.

I spoke to my local vx dealer who said that it is a power sounder failure
and that the unit needs replacing because the batteries in it fail.

What i would like to know is, whether this is covered unnder vauxhall
warranty as its an 02 car with 30,000 miles, or if not how much its likely
    to be.

i'm sure this was covered a little while ago but i dont know how to get all
    the old posts up.

    TIA

    Tim

the thread was on the 09/03/04 about astra alarms.
if you are using oe6 select views show all msgs. or do a properties reset
    list on the group name

i'd go for a warranty change myself.

It sounds like the correct diagnosis and it is covered under warranty.

Quite why the dealer did not volunteer this I do not know. We would have
jumped at the chance of doing the warranty job (ie Vauxhall paying so
customer happy) and probably done it on the spot because it is an easy job.
