zafira engine noise

Have an 06 plate Zafira 1.9CDTi. 7500 m on the clock. Have
experienced a ticking noise when moving - believed it may have been
the clutch. ( Previous post ). Have been to main dealer who
acknowledged the noise but could find no problem. They have discussed
with Vauxhall who have concluded that it is the Little Ends which are
noisy. They say they will be in spec and should give no problems but
have told me they will replace the engine under warranty. Has anyone
else experienced this? If the engine is replaced what's the position
with the mileage? Does it go back to zero?

IIRC the mileage is attributed to the chassis, so your car will remain
at whatever it's at now - just record the fact that the engine was
replaced at x miles for reference when you come to sell and advertise
as such, etc.

I should have thought that if the dealer is a good one and the job is
done well then there would be no problem. Out of interest, is it the
8V (120PS) or 16V (150PS) 1.9CDTi engine that you have?
