wires under seats

I've had this v-reg astra estate for over a year but only just discovered that there are some wires connected to a box under both front seats. Any ideas what they could be for?

to detect if a person is in the seat - if so, seat belt warning sign lights up if belt not put on?

Could be trigger wires for the seatbelt tensioners. dont unplug them. If I'm right, they are part of the airbag system.
