Hi all, new to this forum so go easy on me lol. 1st time poster. Im posting
on behalf of a friend. Hes been getting ripped off by a vauhall garage that
keeps on simply resetting fault codes concerning automatic gearbox
transmission faults with his car. I only know at present its a k reg
automatic cavalier. I hunted around the net for a ecu cable for it but seems
like theres some diffirent technical abilities between the obd1 and 2
cables. He said his has the 16 pin connecter UNDER THE BONNET ( and not in
the car itself ). After my net hunt on info and details concerning which
cable he needs am left confused on cables/software concerning his car. obd1,
obd2, paper clips, interface boxes required..........etc ????????????? Sorry
i cant provide too much info on the car itself at the moment. If anybody
that can help needs more info on the car be well appreciated. The fault
started when his alternator started packing in, eventually wrecked his
battery by constantly not charging it then died. Both were replaced. Now hes
left with this intermittent auto transmission fault again. Even if he knew
if it was something mechanical that was causing the error to output whatever
fault code he would be more informed on it. Sorry i cant give any more info
atm. Some input on the cables and software be appreciated.

transmission that needed reset that was it. Any idea what cable is used for
    this car?

But why does he need a loom? Cant help but think you are barking up the
    wrong tree.
Without the error code it is not really possible to offer any advice.Sorry.

sorry jnr hit send before i finished post. yes its the cable to plug into
the socket to run diagnostics himself hes after as hes got the software
required with loaded codes. Ok VW's use ross tech. Wot bout vauxhalls? Why
would i want to know the error code? even if we knew it nothing we can do
other than get it fixed with somebody with cable and mechanical knowledge.
So hes got the manual and the software all he needs is the cable. Sorry to
sound a bit rude but how simple can a question be>>>>>>> " What Ecu
    diagnostic cable required......" lol
