VX Complete Motoring Plan

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Richard Murphy, Jul 12, 2004.

  1. I have an Astra Estate. 2002, currently 32k miles on clock, covering about
    20 - 22k per annum, 1.6 8 valve, service 20k/1 year, cambelt change every
    80k

Has anyone with similar vehicle/mileage tried this service / maintenance
plan (Option1 WIT maintenance) - is it worth it?

    Cheers.

I have an Astra Estate. 2002, currently 32k miles on clock, covering about
Usually not, but can be handy if you travel a lot and regularly have to have
your car serviced away from home.

By the way, cambelt changes have been rescheduled to 40k miles after many
failures prior to 80k miles. Don't go a mile over 40k without doing it -
and make sure they change the tensioner and rollers at the same time .

  3. I am a dealer so biased but....

First impression is that it is quite good value providing the period
includes at least one cambelt & roller change.

  4. Thanks Alan -

Is there any official word from VX on this comment about the 80k cambelt
    change moved to 40k?
my local dealer has not mentioned 'owt, and it still shows on all my docs as
    80K

  5. There is official word and all Vauxhall dealers should have been
recommending 40,000/4 years for years now.

Service books are unchanged for some European reason!
