    Hi all,
New to the group but not to my Vectra ( should have kept the sri Cav... Ahh
    well) Now
I own a '98 2.0 Sri and the other day noticed what I can only describe as a
rythmitic scraping sound. I investigated today and narrowed it down to
something behind the timing belt cover. I took it off to find that the metal
ring on the water pump pulley had broken away from its rivets and had fallen
behind the crank pulley..... but not without first taking a couple of chunks
out of the timing belt !!! Now that is what I would call a near miss... it
could have turned out to have been an expensive job. Has this ever happened
to anybody elses' water pump ?
