looking for any advice on my situation.ive got a vectra sri 2.2 150 with
only 35000 miles on clock and full service history.this morning car wouldnt
start got AA out and he said cam chain had broken.so ive took it to my local
dealer and could be facing a bill of £iooo + but ive looked on forums and
this seems a common fault. If its a common fault shouldnt vauxhall be footing
some of the bill.Does anybody know if the is any warning signs to tell you
    this is about to happen.

How old is the car? I thought the chains were supposed to be good for
    around 100,000 miles?

Hum? It's it's less than 3 uears old and has only 35K miles then it
should be covered by Vauxhall's 3 year warranty.
I would be haveing words with Vauxhall customer service at such a low
    mileage.

thanks you two,but its 3 and half years old so isnt covered by warranty.but
your right its called a lifelong chain and isnt mentioned in service booklet
about changing it because of this.so i have no intention of paying some
silly price.service manager let slip to AA man when i wasnt there that they
have had lots go wrong.thanks anyway
