Vectra Speedo and Rev counter

    The Car 1996 Preg 1600cc 16v Vectra with 133,000 miles



    Can anyone help with the following?

    The rev counter and the speedo intermittently stop and start working.



    So far I have removed the instrument panel and checked the flexible circuit
    for damage, all appears ok. Sometimes the bulb for the milometer goes out



    Tonight I remade a bad earth connection on the inlet manifold, I started
    the engine and the rev counter worked, took the car for a quick drive and
    the speedo was working OK.



    I switched the engine off for about 10 mins then restarted it the rev
    counter and speedo stayed at zero.



    The car seems to run ok, bit down on acceleration but it is a 1.6 with 133K
    on it !

    Any ideas would be appreciated.
