vectra reverse lights

Hi, just wondering if you can help, I have been asked to look at a vectras
reverse lights, I'm not sure where the switch is plus, when somebody tells
me,
can I just pull the connector off and put the wires together (to make the
switch) or will this cause me problems with the cpu, fault warning light?

Switch is near the front gearbox mount. Just join the wires to test, ECU
won't care.
