    hi
i have a 1996 P reg 1.8 vectra that has suddenly developed a habit of
    stalling.
the idle speed can be very up and down and other times it idles perfectly
local vaux dealers say it is ecu that needs replacing (not looked at car
yet) but i am hoping it could be a dirty throttle body or a dodgy idle
    control valve
any ideas would be gratefully recieved

    no bother mate.
all been there and done the ripped off bit!

I'd keep an eye on the large pipe from the top of the engine to that area.
it gets clogged with oil and crap, that's how the icv gets crap in it.
put if off and clean that if you've not done so.
should bring you back a bit of poke in the accelerator as well

  6. Make sure you fit the oil separator modification or you'll be doing it all
    the time.
