vectra engine management light

I've got a 98 1.8 vectra which has just graced me with a pretty orange
engine fault light on the dash. I had a Corsa not that long ago and was told
that by bridging certain terminals on the 'D' plug, I could get a fault code
to be displayed. Is there a way of doing this on a Vectra?
