Vectra Engine Light, loses power...

Hi

Does anyone know why my Ventra's engine light sometime comes on and the car loses power at the same time?

It's intermittent and turning off the engine for 5 seconds seems to solve the problem until for a bit. It only seems to be a problem after the car has been moving for a bit after being started from cold.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

it could be alot of things
i think you best bet is read the codes via the paperclip trick.

I've owned 2 different 1.6 Corsas both of which developed the exact same symptons. In their cases it was the EGR (Exhaust gas recirculation) valve sticking. May/may not be the same thing.
