Vectra Door Trim Removal

Discussion in 'Vectra' started by Chuckie Finzter, Jul 30, 2007.

  1. Help,

Anyone out there have any ideas on how to remove the interior trim of the
inside of the passenger door on my N reg Vectra? One problem…… I can’t open
the door; the central locking has gone tits up and that door fails to
    unlock.

It looks like I will have to remove the passenger seat as well to get to the
middle screw holding the bottom of the door on. Is this just a simple,
remove the screws at the rear of the runners and slide the seat to the rear,
or will this also be a pain in the backside?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Done these before - awkward sod but can be done. I didn't take the seat out
and didn't take the panel all the way off. I managed to undo all the screws
at the top and prize the panel back far enough to get a very long screw
driver in. I then smashed the back off the lock until I could get to the
lock release lever and then I could open the door. Get a new lock before you
start. BUT try the door lots of time first as some times it will decide to
work and let you in and make sure the plug is still on before you smash it.

  3. Cheers for that me140. Yes sometimes the door unlocks/locks then on other
occasions more than most won't, and now the indicator button and cable just
flops about like its not connected to the locking mechanism.
The central locking I would assume is controlled by the turn in the key in
the drivers door (then to the controller in the drivers footwell) which I
have been doing due to the remote only unlocking/locking the rear doors. So
what it looks like, is a new central locking unit for both front doors, and
if this won't work a controller, and there are a few of these on Flea bay.
    Thanks again

I dont know if I am too late with this, but if you open your front door and
look in at the leading edge of the door that will not open you should be
able to get at the tube like bellows that carry the wiring to the door
(locking, speakers, electric windows etc. ) If you havent already butchered
things then open that up and see if you have any broken wires.
