Vectra 1.8Glsi 1997
Noticed this morning that I can no longer see the numbers on my mileage &
trip meter, tried turning lights on but still no luck. If I look closely I
can see them just about, I presume their must be some kind of bulb behind
the display that has probably blown! Has anybody ever replaced bulbs in the
dash & what's involved or is it best left alone?

Yeah there is a bulb, and it sounds as if has gone, however when the same
situation happened to me I gave the dash a good thump and its been on ever
since .

I have recently taken out the Instrument Panel on my SRi to work on the
TID. You need the Haynes Manual to see what is involved. A good site for
info is http://www.vectra-sport.com/. It can be a little bit awkward trying
to undo some of the screws ect but no pain no gain !!!! Test all your other
bulbs if you go ahead I found the tenp/petrol not working.

Thanks for the info, I will have to try & dig out my Haynes manual! I know I
have one somewhere. I am not so worried about taking out the dash, its just
the bloody airbag that puts the wind up me.

you wont have to remove the steering wheel to remove the instrument cluster,
in fact don't even attempt to, just adjust it so its on its lowest position.
you may find the speedo cable a bit akward, little hands are helpfull.
