    Hi all

Just had to replace battery on my 1996 Veccy 1.8 GLS (petrol) and
(inevitably...or maybe carelessness?) the bolt holding the clamp which grips
foot of battery has sheared off.

Before trying to drill out stud and fitting a nut and bolt (which maybe
possible but doesn't look easy with my ancient Black & Decker...) does
anyone have any alternative ideas of how I could fix battery safely? For
the moment it's relying on the cables, and I'm trying to avoid
    crash-stops... :-(

    Many thanks for any ideas...

Brilliant Mike - I wish I'd though of that .... but when I tried it, and
then braked sharply, the battery flew back and forth between the car in
    front and my boot... :-(

More seriously, I've just attacked the stud with my 30+ year old black and
decker, and... success!! All securely bolted in place now, thanks.
