vectra 1.8 1998,sump problem

    hi can anyone help me i have had a vectra for almost a year and was giving
    it a oil change when the sump nut started to turn and then it just started
    to spin and not come off or tighten back up,does anyone know where to get a
    new sump cheap ?? or how much new thanks...

    well, which ever way you go unless you are clever, the sump has to come off.
    anyway
    take it off & see why the plug will not come out.
    you can then push it from the inside & get it out.
    it could be the thread on the sump plug (easy to get & cheap)
    or it could be the thread in the base of the sump (no so cheap)

    when you know which.
    plug u can get from scrappy or vauxhall.

    sump..
    well you now know how to take it off & what is involve.
    go to a scrappy & DIY!
    should not cost too much either!

    just a passing thought.

    you have got the copper washer on haven't you??
    cause the plug will spin if you have not
    the thread does not go right to the headend of the plug on some (to allow
    for the washer to spin)
    can you push the plug up against the sump as though it were tightened??
    could be the reason...
