vectra 1.8 16v engine dies ... all dash lights up?

    my friend filled my car with diesel. not a great thing to do as its
    petrol.


    drove it home after the garage flushed it of the diesel. about 15 20
    miles in all dash lights up and car dies? is it alternator??
    if any one can give me info i would be so grateful.

    Sounds too much of a coincidence to be alternator, and I doubt that would
    cause car to die until battery flattens.

    I'm more intrigued about how your (ex- ?) friend managed to get a diesel
    nozzle into a petrol filler tube... !!
