Vauxhall Vectra cuts out

Hi All,
My 1997 2.0 Vectra cuts out from time to time when the engine is
on tickover although the engine seems to have warmed up okay.

It does it at lights after about 20-30 secs but worse sometimes when
aproaching roundabouts, does anyone have any similar problem or anyone have
an idea what the problem could be...thanks

Sounds like the usual idle air control valve gunged up problem - a
regularly discussed issue on this group. See the following thread for

Definitely - Had this happen to me about four years ago when turning right at a set of traffic lights and a gang of school kids on the path on the left - I almost collected them all - very, very frightening. Came to this group and found the solution. Only takes half an hour - basic tools and an Allen key plus something to clean out the valve. Mine is stalling again after three years and needs doing again - as soon as it stops raining !!!
