It took a bloody long time but I'm ecstatic having got Vauxhall to refund me the cost of buying a proper after-market fix for the problem of the Zafira spare wheels getting stolen. I put a lot of pressure on them- focussing on the inadequacy of the design and their inability to provide a fix themselves and how they were letting their customers down. What tipped it in my favour was a gentle threat of exposure on the internet, a personal demo outside their showrooms plus exposure in the media and motoring magazines. They never admitted liability but they did eventually say they would refund me the cost of the K-lok retaining system supplied by Osprey products. It was the Series 19 all metal one at 35 quid. So it can be done. Just apply the pressure, politely, regularly and express increasing outrage as time goes by. It works. It took me 4 months but it was worth it. They are quite pleasant and helpful once they know you won't give up but I do think it will only work if one is polite and patient. Good luck and give it a go. And don't give up when you get the inevitable brush-off at the first few attempts. The Relic
