    Hi All,

Well after an unfortunate series of events my poor little astra is no more
(thankfully I walked away in a better state than my car!). However before
the accident I put a full tank of petrol in and whilst the car is still in
my possession I would like to recover the fuel. Please could someone tell me
the easiest way to go about this AFAIK there is some device that prevents
siphoning. Not that I'm tight but after being offered £10 for the car I
begrudge leaving £40 of petrol in the tank!

    Many thanks in advance

AFAIK. most have the exit pipe goes via a 90deg pipe fixing underneath.
just push it's sides in & pull it off the tank
the tank will drain, but slowly.
the really brutal way to do it is to put a bar (about 10-15mm dia) into the
filler nozzle & smackit hard or wrench it from side to side.
it will break the filler restrainer completely.
