    Hi people,

What's your views on the Vauxhall Astra GSi Turbo? I'm thinking of getting
it and want views from people who currently owe one. And if I was to buy
one where would the cheapest place be to get hold of one? How could I get a
dealer to reduce the list price? And is it worth buying an Astra as I hear
it to be replaced at the end of the year with a new model?

    Thanks in advance

  3. Dunno Ferret, I believe it's a bit of a goer... fancy the turbo Cabriolet
myself. Have you tried 4car or AutoExpress for reviews?

As [I assume] it's the same engine as both the Coupe and Cabriolet turbo
models, so performance wise any such reviews may give you an inkling as to
its worth! [Together with any known pitfalls...]

Don't bother with Top Gear as Clarkson and his cronies only say "yes" to
anything wearing a blue oval badge!

    Good luck...

    ;-)

i used to own one but got rid of it because it was such a piece of cr*p.
turbo lag was a problem. i certainly would not go back to one.

now looking at a the evo8, scuby or similar.

Thanks for that, 4car said it wasn't a bad car.

    That bad??? :-(

I can't afford anything expensive and I don't mind the Astra so I thought
the GSi would be nice to have.
