Vauxhall Astra Automatic

  1. Hi All
I've had my astra Club 1.6 1 year from new having had a basic astra before
this one. Has anyone with the same model car got any views on the
performance of it as I am a bit disappointed with mine. It doesn't seem to
have that 'GO' factor which my old one had. I would appreciate any feedback
    on this matter.

Was your previous car an auto?

the auto boxes do sap power to a greater or lesser extent - if you have a
look at your handbook and compare the performance/fuel consumption of the
auto vs. manual versions of the car you will see a difference of about 10%
    or so.

I would think that a 1.6 might be a bit small to have both sparkling
performance and the overheads of an auto box.

If it's an 8v they are slow. 16v engine is preferable, especially on an
    auto.
