I have a Vauxhall Vectra 2.5CDx 2000, The Heater fan has stopped
working , at same time, the seat belt tensioner light stays on longer
than usual, the Digital trip timer resets itself (mostly) when I switch
off the ignition , and when opening the door, the warning noise , the
one that tells you that you have left the keys in the ignition sounds
even if there are no keys in the ignition (but only for five seconds).
All these problems have occured after comming back from a Vauxhall full
service, (Day did not notice the blown exaust pipe by the way). I took
it back to vauxhall who say this is not their problem as they did not
service these parts. Does anyone know what the problem is or have an
idea. As I have decided never ever , ever take it back to vauxhall ever
again. And will try to look into the problems or get someone else to do
    so.

    Regards
    Danny

Hi Danny I wished I read this post before taking my Vauxhall to them
    its a ropey ole
1.8 Vectra but it does the job

As I was away my wife booked it in to vauxhall to have the inital
problem of a broken handbrake cable sorted

I was ripped off to fix that problem 300 quid which included replacing
    a couple of dashboard
    bulbs !!

I pickd the car up at closing time and the seat belt/air bag light was
on straight away I thought it might go out but it did not

I took it back 2 days later and thought they would reset something
another suprise 200 quid to fix this

I asked how come I have to pay for something that was not a problem
when I brought the car in ?

The reply was you asked us to investigate this problem
I said yes a problem of your making but my complaints were falling upon
    deaf ears

I cant beleive they can be allowed to take the pee out of people to
this extent and get away with it

I m going to send a letter to the service manager cc ing in their head
    office

I m not holding my breath

Hope you got your problem sorted without being ripped off like I was

I m going to keep the car clear of vauxhall from now I would not trust
    them to change a
    dustcap on a tyre

ps they managed to put 30 miles on the car for good measure while it
    was being "repaired"
no wonder they had to keep it overnight they probably lent it to one of
    the apprentices for the night
