  1. VAUXHALL CORSA GLS 16V 1998-2000 1199cc 5 DOOR HATCHBACK Manual Petrol

I have owned my corsa spec as above for two years now and when i first
bought it the exhaused was blowing, so as it was under warranty i took
it in to get fixed, however a year later when itook it for its MOT the
problem was back, i am under the impression that the part that was
apparently changed wasnt, anyway i wasnt in any position to get it
changed last year and had it gummed up, obviously now that has also run
out, but my engine light is also now coming on and it has been
kangarooing, also yesterday when waiting at the traffic lights it
    started revving by itself???!!!

i have it booked in at my local vauxhall garage on friday (the same
place i bought it from and also where i have had it serviced and had my
MOT's done so far) after being advised by another garage that it would
have to goto a vauxhall garage for a diagnostic test.

i just wondered if anyone had any advice or tips for me before i go
    there and face them

use the paperclip trick and pull the codes yourself
then you will get the heads up on what is wrong.
i will guess that the oxygen sensor is now playing up because of the exhaust
    problems

typically it might be the manifold bolts or the gasket, they are remnoune
for this certain on the ecotec 2.2 16v

    Please explain a little further,

What is the paperclip trick ?

And which gasket, the manifold gasket or the head gasket ?

    Thanks,
