Tow bar Zafira

Hi do i need to fit any thing extra to the electrics when adding a tow bar
to my Zafira. besides the obvious bleeper. i mean is their a bulb fault
indecator i need to over ride to stop the dash indecating a fault. W reg 1.8
16v comfort.

 

Not that I am aware of BUT.....

Vauxhall recommend uprating the rear springs when fitting a towbar. A lot of
towbar specialists don't know this but it is something I recommend too.

I will only towing a light weight 16ft racing dinghy so light you can pick
it up by the seat. the mast and rig is a bit heavier but to big to go on the
roof.

 

I used my 2.0 diesel Zaf to tow a trailer with 50kgs nosewieght 5 people and
bags in the boot half way across France and back without noticing the
trailer's there. There was no appreciable effect on the road holding just to
further to stop. I'm not surprised no-one knows about uprating the rear
suspension. I doubt it needs it.
Still show me a copy of Vauxhall technical uopdate and I'll stand corrected.
