    Hi

I recently had my 2004 Tigra 1.4 serviced at KwikFit but the service
indicator still comes on when I turn the ignition on. Is there a way of
resetting this or does it have to be done by a Vauxhall dealer?

    Thanks, David

My 03 Signum is reset by holding down the trip reset button thingy (in the
speedo area) and turning the ignition on (I think it was 2 notches - not as
far as starting the engine), and continuing to hold down the button for
about 30 seconds. The display will then flash something (mine flashed
31,000 and an oil can in orange) to tell you it worked.

There is a bloke on ebay selling this info for a few quid, with another
couple of quid postage! Expensive to send email where he comes from...

    Thanks for your reply

I've just tried the method you mentioned but it doesn't seem to have worked.
When I hold down the button and turn the ignintion on, the display shows
InSP and five dashes underneath and the word InSP flashes so I'm guessing
I'm going along the right lines. As soon as I release the button, the
current mileage shows but when I turn off the ignition and turn it back on,
    I still get "InSP 0.0"...

As posted on the Honest John motoring website:

    Ignition Off
    Hold Trip Reset In
    Turn on Ignition
Still Holding Trip Reset wait for three dashes
    Turn off Ignition
    Turn on Ignition

Not tried it myself but I'm told this works.

I also remember one saying to also hold the brake pedal down, and/or have
the side lights on... Sounding more like a playstation cheat now!

    Hi

I tried that last night but still nothing. It was raining and dark so I
might give another go tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get on. Amd if
that doesn't work, I'll try the brake pedal/sidelight option.

    Cheers
