Tigra parking lights

I've recently noticed a problem with the "parking lights" on my 2004 Tigra.
When I turn the ignition off and leave the indicator stalk in either the up
or down position and then open the door, I get the warning buzzer telling me
that I've done so. However I noticed the other day that the corresponding
side and tail lights aren't lighting up when I get out of the car. I've
checked the parking light fuses and they are ok and am wondering if anyone
can shed any light on this? It's not something I use but am curious as to
why the lights have stopped working but I am still getting the buzzer
telling me that they are on?

Any ideas?

The facelift Corsa C (10/2003 on) which the Tigra is based on does
exactly the same thing. Buzzer but no lights.

Conversely, the pre-facelift C (10/2001-10/2003) does have functional
parking lamps. It appears the feature was removed... :(

Thanks for that - it shows how much notice I take, I've had the car for 14
months!
