    Hi

The roof on my 2004 Tigra has stopped working. If I press the button to
drop the roof when the catches are in place, I don't get the usual warning
buzzer. The boot won't open either - either by using the door switch or the
button on the back of the car. I've checked fuses 29 and 47 and they both
    seem fine.

I've got the car booked in to the local Vauxhall dealer next week for them
to have a look but wondered if anyone had any ideas what this may be and if
I could remedy it myself before next week. It's a real pain not being able
to get into the boot. When I rang another dealer, the woman said she had
the same car and the same thing happened and she solved the problem by
performing some opening window/switching off the ignition/closing the
windows but she couldn't remember the exact sequence. Is anyone aware of
this? I tried the sequence in the handbook for resetting the "one-shot"
window opening/closing but to no avail.

    Thanks in advance

    David

If it is the same fault that has happened to several other Tigra's then
there is a fix for this but can only be done by a dealer. Vauxhall bought
out a small box that you plug into the cars diagnostic socket and it
downloads a software fix to the hard top ecu. Takes 10 mins to do but I
don't think all dealers have the upgrade box so you need to ask them.

Presumably the car is still in warranty? I cannot imagine you have
managed 60,000 miles in it yet?

Take it to a dealer who will/should know what to do

    Hi

The car's only done 17,500 miles but I spoke to the dealer today and it's
    booked in for next Monday.

    Cheers for your replies.

    Hi there,

I have a 2008 Vauxhall tigra. I'm having trouble getting my roof to work. The boot opens as it should both for boot use and for when it open the op way for the roof the go down. The roof dosnt seem to want to go down. I have checked all fuses, cleaned the buttons, un clipped the battery to reset all the car. I'm not sure what else to try. I'm not sure if it's the motor gone. It dos sounds like it's still going but dosnt seem to have the strength to pull the roof down. Will it be the motor??.

    Thanks in advance
