The car - he or she ?

    What is the British way?
    The ship, the yacht is 'she'.
    How about your cars?
    In my language the car is definitely 'he', like the work-horse ;-)

  3. Couldn't be anything else. They're temperamental, liable to let you down
    at any given moment, expensive to run, and require constant cosmetic
    maintenance as well as physical servicing, but when well looked after
    and treated with care can give enormous pleasure and satisfaction.

    Cars are a bit like that, too.

    It is odd, though, that a ship such as King George V or Nelson was
    "she".
