    Hi All.

my turn to ask not help for a change!.

My R Reg sintra has the standard vauxhall fitted TexAlarm (AV2154EGB "C")

Since aquiring the vehicle (abt 18mnths now)
we have always had to disable the internal motion sensors using the dash
    button.
else it goes off when either weather is ultra hot ot freezing.
    could live with that!

however, last w/end was very very foggy & rainy (not kidding) for almost
    36hrs.

since then the alarm now goes off when we turn the key in the ignition to
    start.
it will not disarm, goes thru the motion of flashes like always but
    immediately starts sounding siren again.!!
after about 4/5 mins in gives up & the motor is fine.

Ofcourse when we took it to charvilles the beassty would not do it!
but tech 2 did report several instances of door/tailgate activations
so they cleaned all the sensors for good measure & charged £70.

i have no problem with them , the guy said that if it was not the answer
they would look again for us.

now having been in electroinics for 25+yrs i understand all about alarm
    systems/sensor etc
& how they works & could no doubt diagnose the problem. but how about your
    ideas!!

the keyfobs (2) have OK batteries & 1 has been reprogrammed as a test via
    the approved method.

using the ignition key alone in the door makes no difference either so it is
    a general disarming problem.

i am currently thinking that (if? - how do i tell?) my car has the
immobiliser, then that must be working arm/disarm OK on that cause i can
start the car with the alarm sounding, so it must be the overall disarm
    mechanism,
& it's not the motion senors either.

it will go into charvills again on monday.

    in the meantime any ideas?
    any thoughts!

luckily i live in the sticks so it going off makes no-one unhappy
but it is a bit funny parked in tescos!!

is there anyway i can turn the thing off totally until Monday??

    thank you

    mike

The first Sintras had appalling alarms fitted and they retro-fitted
    (slightly) better ones.

They are normally OK but we have still had problems with some.

Your sensor problem is typical and replacing the sensors with microwave
sensors can cure the problem. Alternatively, just unplug the movement
    sensors!

We have replaced the complete system with an aftermarket one in a few cases!
