    Hi all

Anybody have experience of a problem on the drivers door cental locking mechanism? The doors lock, but I cannot deadlock, the key feels as if there's a spring pushing it away from the deadlock position. I cannot get the key out of the barrel, after unlocking the door, I have to open the door, then turn the key to lock, then remove the key. Also the slot for the key is in a slightly different position. Had a look in Haynes, but couldn't see anything.

    Thanks in advance

what does it do on the remote?
    has the door dropped?
ie is it engaging properly with the latch.
might just need a squirt of wd40

Thanks Mike for speedy reply. It doesn't have a remote. You have to put the
key in the lock to lock it.
    cheers

    ok fair enough.
can you deadlock from the passenger side?
i'm just wondering if it will deadlock (the drivers door) at all?

the car is a few years old, it might just be the fact that the arm or WHY is
    not moving over enough.

There is a small "cam" on the inside of the locking mechanism and it has
    snapped.
Parts are about £10 and my local dealer charges £55 for the total job.
An easy DIY repair if you know what you are doing

  6. Sounds like a simple deadlock ring fault.

The lock has very sensitive anti-tamper protection that has probably failed.

Ask your local dealer for a quote although easy to do yourself if you can get the door trim off.
