I need to take off starter on my 1.8, SRi 2004. haynes says disconnect battery BUT for years now when I disconnect the alarm goes off, tried all the common remedies but nothing turns it off, so as an alternative can I take out a relay or a fuse to stop power getting to the starter whilst I change it? Also is there a relay/fuse I can take out to stop the disconnected battery going off? Thanks in anticipation DW.
