I have just received my wifes brand new Corsa 1,.2 Sxi 5dr AC.
I am pleased with all but the poor engine.
Her last Corsa C 1.2 SXi 5dr AC (53 plate face lift) is much better.
Recently my son smashed the 53 plate one, and the garage loaned us a Hyaundi
i10 1.2. If I had known how sluggish the new Corsa was, I would have been
tempted with the i10 which in omparison is like a boy racers car!
Anyone have experience of the new Corsa's?

The 1.2 Corsa is extremely slow, didn't you look at any figures as a guide
    before
buying? It does about 0-60 in 15+ seconds nd can reach an amazing 98mph.
It's false economy to buy a heavy car with a small engine as you have to
    work it
really hard to get it moving. You should try a 3 cylinder one with a 1litre
    engine.
Dangerous to try joining a motorway with one as there is NO acceleration.
The Fiesta is also slow with a 1.2 engine.
You would be better off with a Suzuki Swift or Daewoo Matiz - they are
    faster!
With the AC on in the Corsa you will be lucky to get it to accelerate. You
    should
have gone for a small engine diesel turbo, then paid less insurance & tax
    and
depending on the model it would be free. It would also provide double the
    MPG.

As we already had the same version, we thought we knew what to expect.

The 0 to 60 is given as 12.8 which is the same as before. It also has
increased BHP over the earlier one.

Nice car apart from the lack of power.

I agree, especially the last part. Last year I bought my wife a brand new pre
registered panda diesel 1.3 turbo with 52 miles on the clock. it had aircon
and metallic paint. 4 doors, nippy as all heck, gp2 insurance, £35 tax, does
65 mpg round town, rising to mid 70's on a run (best ever was rochdale to
st. austell -eden project- and back, driving very carefully, got 87 mpg)
    goes like stink.

All for £6725, cash, no trade in.

A Corsa D will be significantly bigger and heavier than a Corsa C, but
give it a chance. If it's brand new the engine will be very tight for
the first 5-10,000 miles and not really be fully loosened up until
    about 25,000 miles
