Sintra A/C problem

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Chris Peacock, May 18, 2004.

  1. It seems the A/C in my 99 Sintra is not working :( chap just came around to
check the gas and that was fine, fuse seemed ok and as far as we could tell
the diode thingy was working. He did notice that the relay was not clicking.
The light comes on on the button and I hear a small click when I press the
button but no cold air. Any ideas or is this a vauxhall garage jobbie?

    Cheers, Chris.

could be the drier, if you put the car on full blow full heat & press the
A/C button do you hear various servos moving around behind the centre
    consul?
if you do the electrics are ok.
if not check the servo fuses. side panel hidden by drivers door when closed.
check the main relay/fuse under cover ontop of battery.
if they all check OK time for a visit to a dealer.
though you might find an aircon specialist cheaper.

    where are you?
    not near harlow r u?
else i'd do it (or get it done) got a sintra meself

Turn it on and see if you are getting a feed to the compressor with the
    engine running.
If you have a live but no earth check the fan switches on the rad as it
    supplies the earth.
