My CCR600 CD player wont go into the mode for entering the
code even though i go through the procedure right, I have 7 attempts
left and now im confident i have the right number, i did read that
theres a time delay that gets longer between attempts, what is it please?
or am i possibly doing something else wrong?

    thanks for any advice

Forgive any impertinence, but are you absolutely certain you're following
correct procedure? If so, then my understanding is that the first 3
attempts are not time-limited, thereafter the interval between attempts
doubles each time (1 minute, 2, 4, 8 etc)- and the ignition and radio MUST
be left on between attempts. Your handbook should confirm this (or
    otherwise).

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I am sure im doing the prcedure right, it says 7
    safe
instead of 7 _ _ _ _ where the dashes is where the 4 digit code goes and
the 7 is the number of tries i have left,

are you trying to enter the code for the head unit or the separate changer?

I've recently had to reset mine do to power loss.
I couldn't be sure that what I had was what was on the radio pass as some
units were exchanged under warranty, but the radio pass was not updated.
SO .... I went to my friendly VX dealer in Lincolnshire (Thurlby Motors) and
got a new Vehicle Pass - they took the radio & CD out for me & checked the
codes and applied to VX for the pass. £15+VAT and 24 hours is all it
    costs - almost painless! (;<D)).
You will then have a laminated pass card with all security references on for
    the future.
    Good luck

If you are doing it right - nearly same as putting radio code in head unit
apart from pressing cd button instead of as - it sounds like code is wrong -
just take Bob's advice and get it decoded.

Well i have the code, but the cd player has 7 attempts at putting the code
in but it wont go into the put in the code mode, looks like i will have to
take it to a garage like you say

if it isn't showing the ---- after the 7 it is in wait mode so you need to
leave it turned on till it is ready for another go.
