    Hi All,

After removing the seat on my Vectra and starting the car (stupid me!) the
airbag/pretensioner light has come on. Vauxhall want £40 to reset it
(daylight robbery), is there any other way to reset the light (there is no
fault with the airbag system, just the passenger pre-tensioner was
disconnected). Failing that is this something someone other than a Vx dealer
can do (£40 for a Tech 2, unbelievable!)

    Many thanks

    Dan

Unfortunately a scan tool is required. £40 is rather step. Try one of the
    independants who have airbag capabilities.
We charge £10 to reset the codes, but I'm afaraid we're in Notts.

Hi Dan just done the same on my Vauxhall Omega & no the light did'nt
go out after a few days also with the light luminated the system is
inoperative, the only way i could reset my light was @ a Vauxhall
Dealer tech 2 , but it only cost me £23.50 and it only takes 2mins ,
and yes it is a rip off this is rip off Britain at its best. The only
other thing i would like to say is the Haynes manual does not explain
    this.
