People tend not to put real email addresses on because spammers harvest these.

    Hi

You should reply to the group, and not to the sender. Newsgroups are about
sharing information, not emailing individuals personally.

Most people hide email addresses on newsgroups to stop spam or unwanted
mail, they are not being rude, just protecting their mail boxes from
unwanted rubbish and private intrusions from a public arena.

    Regards

yep, it also means you can talk about all manner of crap and not worry about
being bombarded with "i was really offended" emails.
