Any idea's where i can get replacement keys for my 2002 vectra, without
having to pay out a fortune at the dealer. Is it possible to have the New
folding astra key prgrammed for my vectra ?

    have you lost the key(s).
if they have stopped working , it's usually solder joints that can easily be
    repaired

If you are selling the car why not get a non-remote one? A lot of new cars
are only sold with one remote key anyway.

I also wouldn't mess around with new Astra folding keys if you are selling
it. I am intrigued by the chance of new Astra keys working on other models
    but suspect they won't.

    Cheers for that Alan.

Reading previous posts i understand you're pretty clued up about vauxhalls.
Could you possibly tell me how much my car is now worth. Its a 2002 (July)
Elegance, Saloon ( vectra ) all std specs but It now has professionaly
tinted windows and a £400 Mp3 player. Its Star silver with the normal
alloys. Full dealer service history. 27,000 genuine miles. I believe they
don't do the elegance anymore, its now called a "Design". I'm looking for
around £8,000 plus to clear the finance. Am I being realistic. Sorry for
asking like this, but I'm starting to get a bit concerned about how much
money I'm loosing on the car.

    Thanks in advance,

  7. www.parkers.co.uk to get and idea, then use www.autotrader.co.uk to see what
other people are charging in your area. Then price somewhere in between. The
extras don't tend to be worth much on second hand cars but they could mean
    the car sells quicker.

    Hope this helps

Sorry for the delay in answering.

I have bad news on the price I am afraid.

I am presuming it is a 1.8 as you don't say otherwise and that it is a 1
owner car. I have also presumed it is in forecourt condition.

The MP3 player will not help the price either. The price presumes you can
you refit the proper stereo. The tints will also have to come off if you
    want a decent price!

The fact that it is a saloon and not a H/B is the kiss of death.

Ex-rental Vectra, Mondeo, Laguna etc are so cheap now and retail sales of
this size of car are dropping so the prices are very weak.

    Glass's Guide shows a 1.8 H/B with 26,000 miles on at £7,250. I can't see
anyone paying nearly that much for a hatchback so a saloon is worth a lot
less. Somewhere between £6,000 and £6,500 trade value although it is not a
    car I would consider buying.

I would recommend that you stick with the car. You still have a year's
warranty and the main depreciation has happened already.
