Rear wiper delay

I have a 1996 Astra, and just like all the others its rear wiper is on
a delay timer, meaning that when switched on you have to wait for
multiple wipes. I find this annoying and undesirable!

It occurs to me that there may just be a simple timer unit casing this
effect, and if shorted out it would give a constant wipe after wipe.

Is this the case, if so, where would I find this unit?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Just a personal opinion but I have a vehicle that I can set to wipe all the
time and I always use the delay as constant is too much for a rear screen
(lets face it, you spend more time looking out of the front than the rear).
If you want multiple wipes for reversing in heavy rain, then just flick the
rear wash button just long enough to trigger the wipe. that should give you
3-4 wipes. repeat as required. IMHO the effect you are after is more trouble
than its worth. But then, thats just my opinion.....
