Rear window heater on 2004 Corsa

Hi,

I have a 2004 Corsa which is generally doing a fine job. However, the
rear window heater/demister only seems to work properly for the top half
of the window. The mist clears quickly around the wires on the upper
half but does nothing at the bottom.

Has anyone else had this or know what it might be? Might the upper and
lower half of the heater wires be on different circuits or something?

Never heard of this problem - have you checked over the surface of the
glass (inside the car) - are any of the wires broken at any point? If
car is 2004, may still be under warranty?

well if there were broken traces then the whole thing would not work as the
circuit would be broken.

its in two halves
if I remember correctly there was a msg or bulletin about this a while back.
check behind the edging

if they are anything like the smash sensors the smith connectors fail to
make contact where they slide over the trace spade end
the traces corrode & tarnish at this point, a gentle squeeze might suffice
or even better a quick clean with say a suede brush to brighten then should
work
