Well I've eventually got to the bottom of my multi-function display problem.
    It's the radio.
Anyone got a suggestion where I can get the Philips CCRT700 repaired?
That's the fancy radio with a built in phone.

Well to answer my own post, if the radio is out of warranty you CAN NOT
    get it repaired.
The radio repair specialist tells me that no parts and no repair info
for the Philips CCRT700 is available. So a £600 unit is scrap.
I am not a happy bunny - - a call to Vx customer service is needed.

  3. Vauxhall do an exchange service under warranty so presumably any dealer can
do this as a chargeable service.

Furthermore, I believe Vauxhall have dropped the price on these recently.

Yes they have, to around £600 from £1000 ish 4 years ago.
Acording to my local dealer (a very nice chap) there does not appear to
    be a service/exchange available for the CCRT700.

When I was at Vx, I used to collect replacement headunits direct
from the factory that repaired them.
The company in question was called "AEL" and was a massive
concern. They had literally ten's of thousands of units (of all makes)
    in stock.
Sorry, I dont have a phone number but, I can give you their
    address.

You never know, they may be able to help.
    hope this helps

ah scotch that - - wrong company. A.E.L. in Tipton don't have a phone
number. Probably means that they are no longer trading or have changed
    their name.

I Googled the name and address, and it came up with this:
    http://www.fixmyradio.co.uk/
I think it's the same company.
