    Hi folks

I am thinking of selling my Vauxhall Astra CDX 1.6 16v and was hoping
some of you could give me a rough price range of what it is worth.
The car is november 1995 approx 40,000 miles - one careful owner and
has been off the road for a year so needs MOT'd and a good clean.
I have been told it is a rare model and hard to find with so low
    mileage.
Just thought I'd ask here first as a rough guide.

    Any input appreciated.

    Cheers

  2. ry www.parkers.co.uk - you can enter the details of the car you are selling
    and get a gudeline price.

It doesn't cover regional variations, but you might be able to get a
guideline price by looking in the local papers at Astra for sale, comparing
these prices with Parker's for simlar models, and making a guesstimate.

We are on the outskirts of Brum , and a re finding that for example Nissans
at out local dealer cost maybe 5% more than the big dealership in the center
of Brum. But sometimes its the other waya around.

I am thinking of selling my Vauxhall Astra CDX 1.6 16v and was
As much as people are willing to pay for it.
At a rough guess, I'd say circa £1,700. That doesn't mean people won't
pay more for it tho. Lack of MOT is a fairly big factor, may well be
worth getting it ticketed for the sake of £25.
Don't confuse rare with desirable :)

I was thinking about grabbing the parkers guide from the news agents
but the online version is far more suitable as i'm really only
interested in the price of this one car.
I thought parkers would require me to subscribe to use the online
    searches etc but apparently not.

    thanks

Mmmm, I asked here hoping for a *rough* price as someone called and
asked me how much i would take for it, maybe someone here had
    bought/sold a similar model recently.
Thanks, I will consider MOT as you suggest. Should go through easy
enough as its only done a few hundred miles since the last test.

    Heh

I'd find it hard to confuse most Vauxhall's with desirable :)

For the sake of possibly a few hundred quid the price of an MOT is
invaluable, even if it fails and you don't have the work done you can say
    more than you have above.

To a certain exent it doesn't matter how far the cars moved during the year
and if it's not been used much at all there could be all sorts of things
wrong with it that only a mechanic will pick up.
Comments like this make me think twice about buying a car as if it should
pass so easily then why hasn't it got an MOT?
