P0100 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction on a vectra

    I have pulled the above code on my vectra, the only way i could get the damn
    car to work is to adjust the tension on the throttle cable to give a false
    tickover. any ideas what the above code could point to would be a great
    help.

    Could it be the idle air control valve?

    no it's the MAF sensor.
    this is for a ford but the principle is the same
    i can't quickly find the vectra one

    The code is self-explanatory. Either the air mass meter is faulty, or there
    is a tear in the rubber truncking, between the MAF and inlet manifold.

    Got it sorted, phoned vauxhall thet wanted £140 + VAT for a new MAF!!!!
    managed to get one fro mthe local scrappy for £25.
