Hi i have got a humming noise comming from the rear passenger side of the
car at speed and think it is the bearing can anyone give me some tips on the
grease that should be in the brearing and if it is worth going for a water
    proof one or not.
I have heard of this bearing being noisey from other owners that tow with
the same car. could it be that the bearing needs to be cleaned and inspected
    re packed with grease ?
    Any help would be appreciated

Humming noise usually means the bearing has gone and needs replacing.

    To check

    Jack up the car

Rotate the wheel with the palm of your hand on the tyre - it should move
around smoothly. If it's gone you will feel a bit of roughness and maybe a
bit of noise. (A slight scraping might be just the brake linings touching
    the drum)

If it's an adjustable bearing, it's commonly cause by bad adjustsment when
the hub has been removed - quite common I'vre found if you've had work done
    on the brakes.
