My car will not unlock the doors with the remote
or the key could the battery be flat or the remote
batteries be dead I noticed the immobilizer as stopped
flashing its a 1995 cdx with infer-red remotes
    please help somebody

    bit confused here:
are you saying the key fob (it's radio not not infra red BTW) will not work
    AND
turning the key in the lock does not work?

    if it is bothh
    check fuses.

if it is remote keyfob, change it's battery.

The doors will not unlock and i think the
car battery is flat I cannot lift the bonnet
to check How do you get the bonnet open from the outside
    both key fobs don't work
the system i think is infer red because you point it at
a small black reciver on the roof console
the key will only go so far then stops
I think the dead locks are on also

The early ones were infrared, they were build into the key fob. The
radio ones (up to '99?) are separate to the key.

I don't think you can undo the deadlocks without power. The bonnet
release goes around over the top of the engine bay so you can't reach
it from underneath. I think this question was asked a while ago and I
think the suggestion was to smash the grill and then it was possible to
get to the release but hopefully someone will know for sure. You could
also do a search on Google groups.

even if you car battery and/or keyfob are both flat
you should still be able to open driver or passenger door by turning the
    key.
try it fully CW then CCW.
are you sure it is the correct machanical key?
is it vauxhall fitted alarm etc.
    theryt are radio not IR.

That's correct I have now one cut up & taped up grill
The morale is to not leave the deadlocks on for a long time
because if the battery goes down you can not open the car

  7. Even if that didn't work, you would be able to get in through the boot, but
car manufacturers wouldn't design a car where you couldn't unlock the doors
if the battery went flat. When you turn the key in the door it operates a
    mechanical linkage

The doors would not unlock no matter how many times & in what
direction the key was turned the Omega in question is an estate
The remotes on a 1995 CDX are infra red NOT radio

Shoot me if I'm wrong, but my son had a similar problem with his RS Escort
Turbo that he had removed the locks from the doors. Spent an age at work
trying to break into the boot after he had left his lights on (battered
seven shades of shit out of the boot lock, but could not get it to open).
Along comes experienced Engineer, laughs at my son and his mates, uses a
spare battery and jump leads to connect to starter motor (+) and body (-)
thus energising the locking system. Hey presto! doors unlock with key fob?
£50 for new boot lock and paint job.

Not sure about true EMU cars though ?

It was a timely warning to me since I took the car off the road for a
couple of months a couple of weeks ago. I went out straight away and
unlocked it then locked it without the deadlock :)
