Omega Cd

I have just bought an Omega 2.5 elite. I am having a problem with the CD
changer. At sometime the battery has been disconnected and the radio has had
the code entered and is working corrrectly, however although I have the code
for the CD changer I cannot get it to enter. I have followed the
instructions in the manual but am not getting the "enter code" message on
screen.Anybody got an idea how to get this working.

Try turning the ignition on - radio off - press and hold the cd button on
the radio as you turn the radio on. Enter the cd code and you press either
the cd button or as - I cant remember which.
